Paris

Emergency: 112. Say “Paris” and give the street, building number and entrance. Keep the accommodation address in French on the family card. [S68]

What deserves attention

Official travel advice identifies theft on the Métro, RER and at mainline stations, alongside possible disruption from strikes or demonstrations. Plan the arrival and final walk to accommodation, not only the flight. Check services again on the day. [S69]

The documented 2025 attack on a crypto executive's relatives in Paris shows why partners and children belong in the plan. It does not establish a citywide attack rate or identify a universally dangerous neighbourhood. The corroborated case and its limits appear in chapter 51. [S55]

Arrive and move with a clear plan

  • Agree the pickup location and booking details before leaving the terminal or station. Verify a changed driver with the original dispatcher. Wait in a staffed area if details do not match.
  • During luggage collection and boarding, assign one adult to children and another to bags. Avoid opening wallet or exchange accounts while distracted.
  • Use a known staffed venue for a first business meeting. Arrange your own return journey and check-in. A private dinner invitation should not become an unplanned transfer or signing session.

Hotels homes and family routines

For a serviced apartment or longer stay, confirm who holds keys, how visitors are admitted and who responds outside reception hours. Ask staff to verify unexpected deliveries through the agreed contact. A courier logo or knowledge of your name is not enough.

Keep school or childcare pickups, room numbers and recurring walking routes out of public posts. Agree who can collect children and how a last-minute change is verified. Ask a qualified protection adviser to assess a specific threat or sustained unwanted attention.

Shopping meetings and assets

Limit public discussion of purchases, wallet ownership and upcoming departures. Arrange purchases and deliveries through the merchant's verified channels; do not let a new acquaintance combine shopping assistance with an investment introduction.

Use chapter 29's EU provider checks before any financial commitment. Reputation, an event badge and an elegant office do not replace verification of the legal entity and service. [S79]

If something changes: pause a meeting when the venue, participants or transport change unexpectedly. If followed or threatened, move toward a staffed public place when safe and call for help. Do not confront, pursue or attempt to recover property yourself. Keep people safety separate from the later evidence and asset response.

What to take from it

Protection should follow the people whose association with you is visible. Children, partners and carers need a usable plan even when they have no financial authority.
